#RSRSeesTheUSA Day 64: OH-PA-NY
It’s officially my last night away from home on this trip after such a long and exciting adventure. I spent the morning at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and I’m ending the day in an Airbnb that feels like a little hobbit hole, and that eclecticism seems very in keeping with the way the whole trip has gone.
I’m feeling the fatigue of driving long distances again, and I’m feeling emptier of inspiration for these posts. Of course, much of that is probably the self-fulfilling prophecy of knowing the trip is almost over. I am still looking forward to writing something longer and larger about the trip as a whole, and I’m planning to put together some compilations of the postcards/stickers I’ve bought along the way and to print these blog posts as a physical booklet.
I have been through more than half of the states in this very divided country, and I’ve had some deeply wonderful experiences in many of them. I am looking forward to seeing my parents and dog and to sleeping in my own bed. I’m excited to move ahead with some of the professional projects and ideas that have arisen on this trip, and to see what aspects of this adventure will carry on their influence in my next steps.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was a solid choice for my one stop in Cleveland. Very participatory and multisensory, and plenty of little U2 moments for this nerd to appreciate. Here’s audio of a family who knew what they were about playing in the Garage section where you can learn and try instruments (I tried to play the Edge of Seventeen bass line… it was hard on my soft fingertips).
