#RSRSeesTheUSA Day 34: Santa Cruz & Pacific Grove, CA

Today started with this ⬆️

And ended with this ⬇️

Which sounded like this

Morning Deck / Evening Waves
Santa Cruz / Pacific Grove, CA

I wish there was a way to capture the smell of the briny air or the softness and chill of the sea breeze blowing. I’m sorry I can’t share the taste of… well… I didn’t actually eat anything very regionally specific today (because the avocados I bought aren’t ripe yet), but the kale eggs benedict for brunch and the olive oil cake after dinner were both pretty tasty.

I had a great nerd wander through the Monterey Bay Aquarium and loved an awful lot of jellyfish. I watched harbor seals hanging out lazily on the beach with their pups (🦭!).

I watched sea otters both in the aquarium and out in the bay do their (adorable [🦦!]) grooming and eating and carrying around of pups.

I gave in to consumerism and bought a t-shirt with otters on it.

I repeatedly got entirely mesmerized staring at ocean waves crashing on the rocks.

I took myself out to dinner and had a fancy cocktail (no photos of that one) before I watched the sunset sky over the ocean.

In essence, today was a real basic bitch day, and I have zero regrets.
